1. Communicate goals clearly. Do this in writing and meet with your team to discuss and address concerns.
2. Correct in a positive, constructive way. If the matter is serious, talk in private with the erring team member.
3. Let each one know his role and contribution in the over-all scheme of the operations.
4. Let the work environment be a positive experience for all.
5. Walk the talk. Leaders are always being watched and listened to.
6. Keep your promises and win the trust of your employees.
7. Offer incentives by way of prizes, bonuses, tokens, and praise.
8. Reward employees who excel in their work.
9. Hire good people and listen to them. Value their suggestions and feedback.
